At this ceremony, H.E. Mrs. Brechje Schwachöfer, Dutch Ambassador in Brussels and military attaché Lieutenant Colonel Herbert De Groot will present the “Thank you Liberators’ Medal” on behalf of the Dutch government to war veteran Gilbert Vanhoolandt as a token of gratitude from the people of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for his contribution to the liberation of the Netherlands during the Second World War.
