Alleur Everard Monument
History Information
Philippe Everard de Harzir (1921-1944) was a lieutenant in the secret army. He was shot dead in cold blood by the enemy, rue de la Vallée, while trying to save a wounded man without a weapon, during the Combat d'Alleur on September 4, 1944.
Alain Everard de Harzir (1912-1940) was a reserve second lieutenant with the 1st Lancers. He was killed by a burst of automatic weapons in his attempt to rescue a bag of ammunition from the enemy.
