Ruinerwold General Cemetery

There are now four 1939-1945 War casualties commemorated in this site. Of these, 2 are unidentified. The war graves are in the centre of the cemetery, grouped on either side of a locally erected memorial. The memorial to these airmen was provided by local subscription and consists of a wrought iron screen in front of a brick panel, raised above the surrounding levels.
Halifax JD314 from the 10th Squadron, on his mission to Berlin the plane was attacked by a German Fighter and then crashed near Ruinerwold. All crew members died on 29-12-1943. The identity of 2 pilots is unknown. The names of the other crew members are:
