Maarheeze (Sterksel Monastry) Cemetery

The cemetery is within the grounds of the Monastery, which was used as a hospital by the British Army from September 18th, 1944, for about a year. It can be found, in a wooded location, at the rear of the monastery along the path from the tennis court.
There are 42 Commonwealth war graves.

Took off 1700 5 Jan 1945 from Great Massingham to patrol SW of Duisburg in support of the Main Force operation against Hannover. Both airmen who had joined the Squadron together on New Years Day are buried in Holland at Maarheeze (Sterksel Monastry) Cemetery close to where their aircraft had crashed.
