Almost four-fifths of the men buried here belonged to the air forces, and lost their lives in raids over this part of Holland or in returning from Germany, between 1941 and 1944. Men of the land forces who are buried here died between September 1944 and May 1945. The 79th and 86th British General Hospitals were located at Eindhoven during almost all that period.
There are now nearly 700, 1939-45 war casualties commemorated in this site.

Took off 1100 2 Nov 1944 from RAF Mildenhall three minutes ahead of HK612 with which aircraft it collided with at 1417 2 Nov 1944 both aircraft crashing near Erp (Noord-Brabant) about 7 km SSW of Uden. Three including F/O Hoggard RAAF are now buried in Eindhoven (Woensel) General Cemetery while Sgt Hunter is buried with his Squadron comrades from HK612 in Erp Roman catholic Cemetery.
