77th National Pilgrimage and commemoration ceremony in the Memorial Fort of Breendonk

What happened in Breendonk should never be forgotten. That is why the Memorial, in collaboration with the National Confederation of Political Prisoners and Rights Holders of Belgium, annually organizes the commemoration of the end of the horror of the Nazi occupation in the Fort of Breendonk. The first ceremony, called the pilgrimage, took place on September 24, 1944. It united former prisoners and personalities who paid tribute to all political and racial prisoners of the Second World War.
