Monument in honor of the 'beheaded of Munich'
On August 15, 1944, a group of 16 resistance fighters from South-West Flanders was transferred from the 'Zuchthaus' in Kaisheim to the 'Volksgericht' in Donauwörth. Their trial, with little or no defense, lasted barely 3 hours. The verdict was terrible: 15 of the 16 resistance fighters were sentenced to death. Some were beheaded with the ax on October 31, 1944 and the rest on November 3, 1944.
