Fontaine-Notre-Dame Communal Cemetery

The village was the scene of very fierce fighting in the Battle of Cambrai 1917, in which the 51st (Highland) and Guards Divisions played a distinguished part. The 4th Seaforths were driven from the village on the 23rd November after a desperate resistance.

In the South-West part of the Communal Cemetery are the graves of two unknown soldiers of the Seaforth Highlanders and one other unidentified soldier from the United Kingdom.
