Monument to remember the Death March - Buchenwald

Buchenwald was liberated on April 11, 1945 by the 6th Armored Division of the 3rd U.S. Army. When the Americans arrived, there were 21,000 prisoners in the camp, including 1,000 children under the age of 14.
