Beveren, Belgium - Remembrance Ceremony
Sunday 6th April 2025 - Commemoration held for the people of Beveren who were fusilated during World War II.
The cemetery in Beveren contains a grave monument for three executed resistance fighters. Albert Panis, Léon Labyt and Gerard Van Gerven, members of the Resistance and the espionage network ‘Tegal, lijn Alex’ during the Second World War.
They were sentenced to death by the German occupier for espionage and executed in Brussels (National Shooting Range) on 18 February 1944, and were later transferred to the cemetery in Beveren.
