David Arthur Silvertop, Commander 3rd Battalion Royal Tank Regiment
As a lieutenant colonel he made an impressive advance with his tanks. He arrived on French soil on June 13 and embarked on a long journey. He took Antwerp without the need for heavy fighting. Afterwards he advanced to the Netherlands. In Oploo, Germans, hunted by Silvertop's own regiment, shot Silvertop in the center of the village. He is buried in the local cemetery and a street was named after him there.
