Helden van het verzet and De Studio are organizing the 3rd Resistance Café in Antwerp on Monday 9 December in De Studio - Maarschalk Gérardstraat 4, Antwerp.

 

You will discover the moving Antwerp resistance stories of:

- Louis Ecran by nephew Jan Ecran. Louis Ecran joins the ranks of the resistance group Witte Brigade during WWII. A raid on a ration stamp office proves fatal. After being arrested by the Gestapo, Louis is executed in Antwerp on 3 September 1943.

- Dirk Sevens by grandson Patrick Moreau. During WWII Dirk Sevens was deputy public prosecutor of Antwerp and led the resistance group Socrates. After his arrest in August '44 he did not survive the torture in the Fort of Breendonk.

- Rachel Souritz and her partner Chrétien Nyckees by grandson Joeri Puissant. From the beginning of WWII, Rachel Souritz was in the Antwerp resistance. Her partner Chrétien was executed. Her family was deported to the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp.
