John Alexander Brydson 196890 is listed as missing on 1/04/1945 while on an Armed Recce in Spitfire XVI TB884. "Hit by Flak and seen to crash E of Arnhem, but as the Flak was so intense and he was at such a low altitude it is considered almost certain he was killed."
Born 1921 in Troqueer, Kirkcudbrightshire. Son of William Alexander and Annie (Hamilton) Brydson of Terregles. John was a joiner in his grandfather's business when he enlisted in 1941 and was promoted to Sergeant Pilot (1343649). He was commissioned in March 1945. He was shot down while supporting an infantry advance near Arnhem.
