ComingWorldRemeberMe, Palingbeek 30 March 2018
ComingWorldRememberMe (CWRM) is an ode to a new future grounded in our remembrance of the horror and futility of the First World War. The temporary land art installation by artist Koen Vanmechelen symbolizes the rebirth of a hopeful desire for a new and more peaceful world.
600,000 sculptures for 600,000 names commemorating all the victims of the First World War in Belgium by creating a symbol for each and every one of them.
The entire land art installation is spread over the surface between on the one side Hill 60 and on the other side The Bluff. This no man s land is one of the most fought over locations in our country and therefore an extremely symbolical location to implement this land art installation on.
