On Sunday 17th November 2024 a ceremony was held on the occasion of the German Memorial Day ´Volkstrauertag´.

"We want to remember all victims of war and violence all over the world in the spirit of the ideals of the German War Graves Commission: Reconciliation over the Graves – Work for Peace".

H.E. Martin Kotthaus, Ambassador of the federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Belgium, Honorary Colonel Erik De Muynck, Representative for the German War Graves Commission in Belgium, Ms. Myriam Koonings, Director of the Youth Meeting Center Lommel, Invite you to the annual ceremony that will take place on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 1 p.m. in the presence of the Representative of His Majesty the King.

Guest speaker is Mr. Oliver Paasch, Minister-President of the German-speaking Community in Belgium.

The ceremony will be musically graced by the Royal Music Band of the Belgian Navy.  The military honour formafions and wreath bearers are provided by the Center for Basic Training and Driving School from Leopoldsburg (B) and the Tacfical Air Force Squadron 31 “Boelcke” from Nörvenich (D).

General support is provided by the Logistikkommando Bundeswehr from Erfurt (D) and Reservists from Lower Saxony (D).
