Noyers-Pont-Maugis German War Cemetery

The German war cemetery (Kriegsgräberstätte) Noyers-Pont-Maugis contains 12,788 graves from the Second and 14,055 graves from the First World War.  The cemetery started in 1922. About 5000 casualties are unknown.  On the cemetery is also a mass grave from World War II with 37 people, 30 of whom are unknown.

 

The Noyers-Pont-Maugis German War Cemetery is one of the largest German World War I & II memorials in the northern part of France. 26,843 German war graves are at this cemetery. The cemetery is located at at hills side with a fantastic view over the surrounding landscape - just south of the city of Sedan.
