EHRENFRIEDHOF NR.179 - A German Military Cemetery in Marke

Soldiers were buried in Marke until October 1918. Originally, the cemetery contained 181 Germans, 12 British, 1 French and 1 Italian.

After the war, the 12 British were transferred to the Harlebeke New British Cemetery.

The only Italian was reburied at the Campo Santo Italiano di Houthulst. One Frenchman was probably repatriated at the request of his family.

The Germans were transferred to Menen Wald.
