Remembrance Memorial Chausseurs Ardennais

This memorial commemorates the officers and soldiers of the 3rd and 6th Regiment Chausseurs Ardennais who died in the Second World War.

 

M4A1 Sherman Tank Vielsalm

This American Sherman M4A1 tank was left behind by Americans in December 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge.

 

Memorial Jacques de Dixmude

Memorial for the Belgian general Jules Marie Alphonse Jacques de Dixmude.

 

War Memorial Vielsalm

Monument for the victims from Vielsalm of the First and Second World War.

In the center, a monument with the names of the victims of World War I from 1914 to 1918 and World War ll from 1940 – 1945.

 

Monument 7th Armored Division & General Robert W. Hasbrouck

On December 17, 1944 was the headquarters of the U.S. 7th Armored Division under the leadership of Hasbrouck located in Vielsam.

The division offered heavy resistance to the German advance in and around St. Vith.

On December 22, 20 thousand soldiers were withdrawn across the bridge at Vielsam, after which the bridges were blown up.

This monument commemorates the division, their commander and the 3500 soldiers who died in the vicinity.

 

Monument Secret Army

In front of the church there is the monument for "l'Armée Secrete des Ardennes".
